I spent the winter building a buck, a mold and a fibreglass scuttle to replace the steel one. Of course it was -10 outside and inside my garage, so I built an insulated and ventalated 6'x8' shed inside my garage first. |

This is the the scuttle before paint. I am going to forgo the dash and just install my gauges right on the face of the scuttle. The old steel scuttle weighed 27 pounds, this one weighs 5! |

The opposite side of the scuttle has no lip to hold up the rear of the hood, so I cut and bent some aluminum angle and will rivet it on to hold the hood. The scuttle is about the same height off the top frame tubes as the nose cone. My hood had to be cut to fit and now is pretty much flat front to back. I think this makes the car look much better. |

Racing. Well it is a money pit. Tires are the most important part, next the the driver maybe. My old 3 piece rims with Toyo RA-1s weighed around 42 pounds per corner. These are 15"x10" Kodiak Racing wheels and 22"x10"x15" Hoosier slicks that weigh in at 26 pounds per corner. The rolling diamater is down from just over 24" to 21.8", should make accleration much better with the smaller diamater and less rotational mass. |
