Well Evolution One of the once stretched and fattened rotary Locost is now the chopped and shrunken Locost. Was it worth all the work? I think it was around 300 hours to do the mods. I guess the real deal will be on the results on the time sheets. I cooked myself up a bit of a diffuser to try and suck those Hoosiers to the race track.
The profile of the hood now is almost flat from the nose cone to the scuttle. I also added a vent on the side of the hood to let the air escape from the back fo the oil cooler A Supertrapp was added to try and mellow out that "honking" rotary roar.
I did a bit more cooking up front. A somewhat smallish spliter and air damn will now try and suck the front end down.
Those front fenders don't really cover the 10" tires, but still fit around the Toyos. There is also a massive NACA duct on the nose cone now that feeds directly on to the oil cooler to try and keep the oil temp below the 230-240 I was seeing last year.
The cockpit is much smaller now. I am 5'11" and I of course I fit perfectly. I have not got around to fabbing up a new wind deflector yet, pretty much the last thing on the list.
The new dash. Well really a lack of one. I just mounted the guages right to the scullte. This makes it a bit lighter but more of a pain to track down wirring gremlins. Which I have one of course!
