Feb 19/2001 - What an experience this was. I was able to get 4 - 4x8 sheets of 0.050" half hard aluminum delivered to my basement for $400 Cdn taxes in. Not cheap, but in the middle of winter in Ontario, it seemed the easy way to go. Forming the hood took me about a week as I had never done any body forming before. It turned out not too bad and I have enough left over to have another go, it I wish. I also practiced annealing and forming the rear panel from some scrap, before I try the real thing. I must say the help on the locost list really helped me do an OK job of the rear pannel test piece. |

Feb 19/2001 - Some more aluminum pieces. The transmission tunnel cover and the behind the seat flat piece. |

Feb 19/2001 - The finished nose cone with Dupont Acrylic Urethane Enamel Indego metalic pearl paint. Of course my painting job is only 1% as good as the paint. This was a first for me, so I guess it's not all that bad, I've used many a spray bomb, but never a proper air paint gun. I'm going to wet sand and buf this to minimize the orange peel. |

Feb 19/2001 - The rest of the purple bits of the car. Nose cone, fenders, and scuttle. I've taken over yet another room in the house with car parts. I'm becoming quite popular. |

Feb 19/2001 - The finished chassis as seen from the front. This is just after a trip to the sand blasters to remove the crappy rust paint I had put on a year ago, and then a trip to the powder coaters for a "yellowing". This is the same yellow that I had done to the wheel centers of the Work 3 peice wheels. I strongley recommend a vist to Ermano Jr, at Dynamic Powder coaters in Concord if you live in the GTA and need some powder coating done. Also John at Master Blasters in Vandorf was very quick and thorough. |
